Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” is finally coming to a close. The city of Vancouver in Canada has the honor of hosting the final three shows of the five-continent, near-two-year concert series, and their preparations for this weekend’s shows (Dec. 6 to 8) are now in full swing.
In fact, according to the Vancouver Sun, the local police department plans to deploy 700 extra officers over the weekend to ensure the safety of Vancouverites as well as the Swifties who will be coming into the city to attend the “Eras” concerts.
As for the fans of the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL, it now seems that they are bracing for the worst after a local announcement surrounding their team.
The Canucks play their home games at Rogers Arena, which is roughly a five-minute walk from the venue of the “Eras Tour,” BC Place. The Canucks play two home games this weekend — against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday — which directly conflict with the schedule of Swift’s shows.
In this light, an announcement was made to remind Canucks fans about potential logistical troubles they will run into given the hectic schedule over the weekend.
Supporters have been advised to “take public transit” given how parking in the vicinity will be “extremely limited.” They have also been reminded to “give yourself extra time to arrive and navigate the crowds.”

It is also worth noting that there’s also a Cirque du Soleil show on Friday at the nearby Concord Pacific Place, which is also expected to add even more congestion.
At this point, Canucks fans have no other choice but to expect worst.
“3 days will be traffic nightmare,” reacted a fan on X.
“Lol it’s going to be deadly,” said another.
“Wonder if I can rent out my dads parking spot downtown for $200 each night 😂” joked a supporter.

“office xmas party is tomorrow night in a restaurant in the same block as the Taylor Swift concert – and the Canucks are playing – and Cirque Soleil on too – wonder how we will get home ? lol – It’s going to be one KRAZYYY night,” wrote a Vancouverite.
“Nothing is scarier to me than the fact that both the Canucks and Taylor Swift have an event starting around in Vancouver on Friday. RIP transit users,” a comment read.
“Please Note: To those who are attending this game at Rogers Arena please make sure you have alternative ways to get home. It will be Taylor Swift weekend and it will be busy! There will be added trains but it will still be a good idea to prepare another way home just in case!” reminded a Canucks fan page.
It’s going to be an extremely busy weekend not only for the Canucks and their fans but for pretty much the entire city of Vancouver.
